Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This page explains how to remove the data that 8Bit Technologies's Orbit application holds in connection with Facebook and Instagram (Meta), and how to ask us to delete other personal information. It supports the User Data Deletion requirement of the Meta platform.
Deletion requests are handled by people. Orbit does not currently offer an automatic, self-service deletion button or an automated Meta deletion callback, so please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Stop Orbit's access in your Meta account (optional, immediate)
You can remove Orbit's access to your Meta account yourself at any time:
- Open Facebook and go to Settings and privacy → Settings.
- Open Business integrations (shown as Apps and websites on some accounts).
- Find the 8Bit Technologies / Orbit app and choose Remove. You can also choose to delete the data it previously posted, where Facebook offers that option.
If you have a Page that 8Bit Technologies manages for you, you can also remove 8Bit Technologies's access to that Page in your Page or Business settings in Meta.
Step 2: Ask us to disconnect and delete (client users and Page owners)
Email support@8bittechnologies.com with the subject "Data deletion request". To help us find the right records, please include:
- your full name and the email address you use with 8Bit Technologies or Orbit;
- the name of your business or client account;
- the name and, if you know it, the ID of the Facebook Page, and the username of the Instagram account, concerned;
- whether you want only the Meta integration data deleted, or also your Orbit account and other personal information.
We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from you or from someone authorised to act for the business before we act on it. You can also write to us at: 8Bit Technologies, BE 61, Salt Lake Rd, BE Block, Sector 1, Kolkata, Bidhannagar, West Bengal 700064, or call 092331 11777.
What we can delete
Depending on your request, and for the Page or account it concerns, we will delete or de-identify:
- the stored Meta access tokens (these are also removed whenever the Meta connection is disconnected in Orbit);
- the stored Page and Instagram account details: IDs, names and usernames, and the Page's permissions information;
- the link between the Page and the client in Orbit;
- identifiers and links that Meta returned for content published through the integration;
- on request, your Orbit account details and other personal information we hold about you.
What we may need to keep
- Records we must keep by law, or need to protect or defend legal rights, and accounting or contractual records.
- A limited audit record that shows that a change or a deletion was made, so that we can account for our actions. It will not contain access tokens.
- Content that is already published on Facebook or Instagram. It is not held by Orbit, and it stays on Meta unless it is removed there by the Page owner or by Meta.
We will tell you if we have to keep anything and why.
Data held by Meta
Information that Meta holds independently, such as your Facebook and Instagram accounts, Pages and posts, is controlled by Meta and is governed by Meta's own terms and privacy policy. We cannot delete it for you; you can manage it in your Meta account settings.
How long it takes
We will acknowledge your request by email and aim to complete it within a reasonable time, and we will confirm to you when it is done. If we need more information, or if the request is complex, we will let you know what to expect.
